Behind the Scenes
many years of extensive traveling and a sensitive sense for shape, color and form, have guided me to my cosmic moth designs. i collect artifacts and rare stones, vintage and antique bits and pieces, from all around the globe.
when i am in my studio i am in bliss. living in the middle of the forrest gives me the tranquility and leasure to center myself and merge into the world of colors and shapes.
like a child, i spread all my treasures around me and observe how creations manifest in front of my eyes. i hold my visions in my mind and work them out in all details, without a pencil and paper, until a new collection has lined up in my inner eye. that process can take days and it will remain engraved until all has taken shape in the material world.
now its time to tie on my apron and get to work. precious metal clays get sculpted. the kiln is fired up. the torch is on to solder. diamond drills are working their ways into ancient glass. hammer and mandrill give shape to silver. i forget time and space and dawn turns into dusk. when i see my visions come to life the smile on my face lightens up my studio. the coyotes are howling at the night and i walk back to our house, happy.
